When to file your tax return by (2026)

You can submit your tax return on three different dates.

1. Submission electronically = by data box

If you file your tax return electronically, the deadline for submission is no later than 3 May 2027.

All self-employed persons who have a data box, for example, must submit their tax return in this way.

2. Paper submission = in person at the office / send by registered mail

If you file your tax return on paper, the deadline for submission is no later than 1 April 2027.

3. Submission with a tax advisor

If you have a tax adviser file your tax return for you, the maximum submission date is 1 June 2027
